According to the rating of Reporters without Borders, Singapore occupies the 151st position in 2016, which is three positions higher than in 2017. Nevertheless, it is impossible to say that internet users in Singapore may relax, the situation with internet freedom is still tough enough in Singapore.

The current internet status in Singapore is known to be partially free. This means there are some obstacles to access, limits on content, and violation of user rights. Besides, press freedom status is definitely characterized as not free.

Among the most demonstrative user rights violation there are cases like:

  • A blogger Roy has been fined and ordered to pay $106,000 for defaming the prime minister of the country.
  • The Real Singapore website’s owner has been sentenced for ten months for exploiting racial feelings.
  • Amos, a teenage video-blogger, has been arrested again for wounding the feeling of religious people.

All these actions have taken place in the year of 2017 only. So, the citizens are waiting what is to be the next governmental step towards internet surveillance and censoring.

Besides, the number of cyberattacks increases both worldwide and in Singapore. Not only big corporations but average internet users become the victims of cyber criminals.

Thus, over $175.2 billion was lost in view of cyber crime around the globe. Singapore lost $400 million, which is significant for the country with the population of 5.7 million.

The ways to get read of bypassing censorship in Singapore

Having lived in Singapore at least for a month and socialized with the natives, you realize that the most popular internet service for the region is a Singapore proxy server. Proxies help the netizens to hide their true addresses and shift their virtual location to where the server is placed.

However, more often than not users don’t want to pay huge sums of money for paid services and subscribe for free ones. While using the free services their data can be collected and further sold to any interested party. Besides, such services are filled up with ads and have nothing to do with security.

Therefore, when considering your network protection you need to subscribe for the best paid VPN for Singapore. The thing is that the best VPN for Singapore is, as well as Singapore proxy server, to make your authentic address hidden and physical geo-location shifted.

How is a VPN for Singapore different from a Proxy?

However, despite the address hindering, the best VPN for Singapore is to create a secure tunneling between your connected device and a VPN server you are connected to. The tunneling is usually created with the use of up-to-date protocols and long-term bit keys.

While passing through the tunneling all your generated traffic comes to be encoded and thus inaccessible for any adversaries or spying eyes.

Why is a VPN better for Singapore?

The best VPN for Singapore is the utmost solution for the network environment worked out in the country. The best VPN is to make your network anonymous. However, for this reason you need to check the service company before subscribing for it.

Why should I properly choose the best VPN for Singapore?

Unluckily, there are companies that store logging data and some metadata on its customers for further handing over to appropriate institutes or government agencies. That’s exactly why before investing into the service you need to make sure the company doesn’t store any metadata or credentials. For this very purpose you should read all the privacy policy and terms of service attentively.

How to pay for the best VPN to use in Singapore?

More than that, in compliance with the best security experts paying in crypto-currency is stated to be the most anonymous payment method. Therefore, if you have a possibility to pay in Bitcoin, for instance, you’d better jump at the opportunity.

So, when looking for the best VPN for Singapore, you need to pay attention to all the fundamental characteristics including geo-locations and protocols in use.

If you are looking for Singapore VPN with a free trial or best VPN for Netflix in Singapore, then it’s easily available. Just search for Free VPN in Singapore or the cheapest VPN for Singapore on Google.

You might be wondering

Some netizens still ignore VPN providers and opt for surfing the network without protection. And that’s exactly why these impudent people become the victims of criminals. Let’s have a look at some figures:

  • 1 billion Yahoo accounts underwent breach in 2016.
  • Experts predict that the damage of cyberattacks worldwide will reach $6 trillion in the year of 2021.
  • The increase in cryptomining malware increased last year. Over 1 650 000 people succumbed this kind of malicious software.
  • New viruses appear regularly. Thus, the year of 2018 has just begun, but the bar graph presented below indicates that the number of total malware has already increased as compared to the last year.

Well, in today’s world it is important for internet users to get well-prepared for the challenges of cyber criminals. And VPN services are the best invention to resist them. However, there are those who reckon that it is not worth using VPNs.

The most common argument against VPN use is its price. But having studied VPN plans it becomes evident that VPN provider care of their clients and some of them offer the discounts up to 80%.

Don’t miss an opportunity to have a closer look at the best VPNs for Singapore to find the one that caters to the needs of a modern internet user.

Why is Singapore so successful in the world?

Singapore is one of the most popular and innovative countries of the world as it has managed to boost its economy, thereby making it a fully developed country that can lure foreigners and investors all over the world. There are plenty of people visiting Singapore both for business and pleasure every year due to its technological advances that make life easy and convenient.

Singapore is second-popular destination in Asia? Why?

In Asia, it is perhaps the top destination for Westerners precisely because it does not offer a drastic culture shock from Western ways. This is because the country is already so used for having so many western visitors because of its economic growth. Because of technological advances, the country managed to boost its information communication technology as well, which includes internet access. The use of the Internet is really high in Singapore and about 75% of the population makes use of the Internet.

Fast Internet vs. strict censorship in Singapore

The use of the Internet is really high in Singapore and about 75% of the population makes use of the Internet. Internet is actually pretty fast in the country. In fact, it is one of the countries in Asia with the fastest internet speed, so one could imagine how easy it is for people in Singapore to stay online and connect. However, even though there is wide use of the Internet, it is also a country where Internet censorships and geographic restrictions are in place. As a country, Singapore is still pretty conservative, regardless how advanced it is. You do not enjoy 100% Internet freedom in Singapore and this is an issue that many foreign national and business people face when they land in Singapore.

That’s not all …

There is also an increasing number of blocked websites that are being added to cause more suffering and pain for the Internet users. Because of this, the more it is urgent for Singaporeans to use VPN services in Singapore so they can make the most out of their very fast internet by being able to see more content that are originally restricted from Singapore access.

What are Singapore porn laws?

A lot was said about internet censorship in Singapore, but nothing was said about laws regulating access to adult content on the network in Singapore.  As it is well-known, a number of websites which are considered to impact in a negative way on internet users in Singapore are blocked by local authorities (The Media Development Authority). We’ll speak about the agency a little bit later. Want to know that? Keep on reading then and stay with us!

People with a Singaporean IP address won’t be able to access such popular adult sites as Playboy or Sex.com. That is why it is obvious that they have to turn to a VPN in order to unblock all websites, including porn and other adult sites.

Do you still wonder what the MDA is? Have a look at this paragraph, you’ll find the answer here:

Singapore’s media development authority

Formed in 2003, the Media Development Authority (MDA) in Singapore aims to make the media industry in the country competitive. To do this, the MDA has to have the capacity to regulate the industry to slowly form it and eventually make it competitive. Part of this regulatory power is regulating the internet.

Why does this matter?

This means that they have the capacity to restrict whatever content that is deemed unacceptable or offensive.

As such, MDA is always having its prying eyes on the Internet service providers, websites, and Internet content providers to find out if there is any discussion or propagation of ethnic, political and religious affairs pertaining to Singapore demography. Such websites are totally banned in Singapore and the country also practices very strict copyright laws.

How can you actually bypass this in Singapore?

In order to break free from all these restrictions and to access location restricted media contents like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc., you can opt for the best VPN services. Through these best VPN services for Singapore, you will be capable of bypassing censorship that you might find completely unnecessary.

Is VPN legal in Singapore?

So, using a VPN is not legal in Singapore. But there’s a catch! You may have troubles with the Singaporean authorities if you intend to access censored content. That’s really serious!

Another possible concern might happen when you are trying to stream or torrent pirated material which is copyrighted. The laws regulating this issue are very strict in this country.

What does it mean for you?

That means the only thing: your VPN in Singapore must be really sustainable, strong and with great opportunities to be hidden from prying eyes there. That’s why be sure your VPN is provided with….

… strong encryption protocols, like Open VPN;

… high level of data-encrypting;

…additional features (IP Leak protection or kill switch);

… no-logging policy.

We hope you have already chosen the best VPN for Singapore! As you can see, that is REALLY important for secure surfing the Internet there. But that’s not all…

Problems Internet users face

Singapore like many other countries is not safe from Internet censorships. This is not the only problem faced by native netizens. As mentioned, Singapore is still, to some extent, a conservative country. Each country has values to protect, which is why they find it important to implement censorship, and Singapore is one of those countries. There is no free Internet concept practiced in this country and users are confined to geo-restriction policies. The ISPs also keep track of the online activities of its subscribers and therefore everything you do on the Internet is just like an open book.

Apart from all these problems, there are cyber criminals and online hackers waiting to pounce on all data that you share on the Internet through public Wi-Fi hotspots and ISPs. It is not a safe world out there for any Singapore Netizen.

How to prevent the problems in Singapore?

To prevent all these problems that we face today, you need a quality service that has all the security tools and measures to offer you complete online privacy whenever you go online. This is where popular VPN services step into the picture as they have a very good server network that will help Singapore citizens as well as its visitors to access any content they want to watch or read online.

Why choose a VPN?

The only way to bypass all these complicated and seemingly unnecessary censorships and restrictions is to use a reliable and perhaps free VPN for Singapore. Your goal is to use the internet without being monitored or without anyone asking for data that they can sell or may be traced back to you, and this could be perfectly done through a VPN.

Top 5 facts that will make you opt for a VPN in Singapore:

⇒ restrictions limit the citizens and the tourist of Singapore in web surfing;

⇒ governmental monitoring affects people’s privacy;

⇒ public WiFi hotspots are insecure to use without a VPN protection;

⇒ hackers steal data and turn it against its holders;

⇒ user’s traffic is encrypted and it becomes impossible to punish him/her for accessing blacklisted content.

Why is a VPN ideal to unblock all websites in Singapore?

A VPN is the ideal solution that will overcome all the blocks and the local restrictions that you face online. By making use of a reliable and genuine VPN service, you are NOT ONLY gaining access to ALL the contents on the web but also accessing them anonymously.

How can you actually use this?

 With the help of the VPN service you will be able to switch your IP address and surf the websites invisibly. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is an Internet service that will protect you from being monitored, hacked or any surveillance by switching IP address on a regular basis.

And that’s not all …

Even bit torrent and peer to peer file sharing can be done without any worries. Because you are hidden behind a private VPN where no one monitors your online activity or no one stores your confidential data, you are ensured of 100% online security and privacy by hiring the most popular VPN services.

In fact, about 14 000 users a week visit one of the most popular torrenting websites – The Pirate Bay. A good VPN allows doing it securely.

Using VPN service in Singapore?

We’ll give you 2 OBVIOUS reasons why to use a VPN in Singapore. Here’s the deal:

#1 A VPN will basically connect you to a remote sensor and mask your real IP with a different IP. As the IP address you are getting from the VPN is not yours, tracking you is impossible.

#2 Besides, the VPN service in Singapore will provide you with an encrypted channel to send and receive data from your device to the remote server through this channel. This way you enjoy greater protection from the surveillance of government agencies and ISPs and also get protected from malware and hacking on the Internet.

Benefits of Singapore VPN service

As the best VPNs in Singapore will offer you everything from P2P file sharing to visiting blocked and location based restricted sites, you can enjoy watching the content offered by popular online streaming platforms like HBO Go, BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Is that all? Of course, it’s not!

The best VPN services will work not only on your computer, but also on devices like smart phones, tablets, iPad, routers etc. The list of blocked websites is growing in Singapore and by using a reliable VPN service, you can bypass all restrictions. With quality VPN services you get access to the US and European Union websites that are restricted in Singapore.

How to Choose Singapore VPN service?

There are many free VPN services for Singapore out there, which is why it may be difficult to choose a VPN. They may offer the same services such as anonymity and privacy, but there are some that offer unique ones that you probably need depending on your internet habit:

  • Streaming

With the debut of online sites such as Netflix and Hulu, you can watch TV series without having to clog your device memory of a lot of downloads from different sites. But some content in Netflix may not be available in Singapore, which causes a huge hassle for you as you don’t get the most out of your subscription. Some of the fastest VPN for Singapore allows you to do this so read through them and see what fits your activity best. This should be easy to find as just googling best VPN for watching Netflix in Singapore, and you will have a lot of options out there.

  • File Sharing

If you are the type who constantly downloads movies and music from a P2P or file sharing platform, then you have to look for a VPN service that specifically allows you to use platforms with utmost confidentiality. This is important because governments are very particular about pirated files so you better make sure your free VPN Singapore software hides you really good.

  • Mobile access

Your laptop or computer is not the only one that can connect you online anymore. Nowadays, you have different gadgets that you can use for perpetual connectivity such as mobile phones, tablets, and even mobile accessories. As such, it is important to look for free VPN Singapore Android or probably iOS. Sometimes, some services only work for Windows, so you should also look for free VPN Singapore Mac if you have a Macbook.

Best free VPN for Singapore vs. Best paid VPN for Singapore

When choosing between free and paid services you need to judge by your financial possibilities. Providing that you can afford subscription for a paid service, but unwilling to give money for it, you will be amazed to know how many qualities a free VPN misses. So, have a look at the following comparison table:

Best free VPN for Singapore

Best paid VPN for Singapore

pricing

A free VPN draws attraction of numerous customers due to the reason that no payments are needed. However, a free service needs profit too. Therefore, subscribing for the service you risk to have your confidential data sold to some interested parties, to achieve hundreds of spam emails via the email-chains and etc.

A paid VPN is required to be paid for, therefore, some clients abandon using it.

protocols

Unfortunately, free VPNs don’t supply its clients with a large variety of protocols. Therefore, you need to check it in advance for not to be deprived of a necessary protective solution.

Paid services can not only offer a wider range of various protocols starting from PPTP and finishing with L2TP/IPSec, but also create some self-made solutions and additional features.

server locations

Servers are required to be constantly ‘on’, therefore, free VPNs can’t afford a great number of servers located all over the globe. Besides, the number is frequently reduced.

A paid service suggests using a great number of servers placed in different countries and cities. Thus if a US-based server you are connected to is overloaded, you will be able to choose another one for surfing the same network.

a free trial and a money-back guarantee

Actually, a free service is lack of the feature, as long as it’s absolutely free.

Many paid services started to supply their networks with the two functions to make their clients even more protected and assured of the service they choose. With the help of the functions you won’t be afraid of any extra expenses, as in case you are dissatisfied with the service, you will be able to get your money back.

a customer service

A free service is lack of the function or the assistance team works too slowly and in amateurish way. Therefore, being an average user you may face some difficulties coming from the service usage.

A paid service provides its clients with all sorts of online support, such as online chats, emails, encrypted chats, etc. and various guides and instructions posted on the official websites.

The arguments we have presented make us conclude that free VPN may be used only in case you don’t take care of your privacy. In its turn, paid VPNs provide clients with:

  • round-the-clock assistance;
  • trustworthy protocols for data encryption;
  • vast diversity of IPs to make use of;
  • additional functions that make users anonymous.

Conclusion

Now you know everything about the best tool for surfing the net in Singapore safely, anonymously and without restrictions.

Let’s sum it up what you have learnt from the article:

  1. Although Singapore is a home to technological and digital innovations, the people in the country are not spared from restrictions and censorships that are put in place by the government. The worst part is, restrictions and censorships are not the only problem. Security of data is also a problem since some companies and organizations try to buy or steal information to their advantage. Thus, 21 Chinese companies, engaged in smartphones manufacturing, were detected to steal user data
  2. As such, it is important for people in the country to look for the best VPN for Singapore so they can bypass restrictions and continue their daily online activity under the radar and without the fear of other companies stealing their information.
  3. There are so many benefits when using a good and fast VPN service since you can…

…. get the most out of your internet activity,

… getting more content that are supposedly blocked in your country

… and browsing in anonymity.

  1. However, it may be overwhelming to choose from the top VPN for Singapore since there are a lot that probably offer the same services. The best you can do is

… to assess how you use the internet,

… monitor your behavior,

… and learn what you really need from the internet.

  1.  If you use Singapore’s very fast internet to stream movies on Netflix, then you should look for the fastest VPN service that can allow you to do that. If you like downloading from P2P file sharing sites, you can sift through VPN services that are specifically good at this.

6) If you use your phone a lot, then look for a VPN service software that can be used through your android or iOS device.

7) With all the restrictions and security breaches out there, using a VPN is really the safest bet since everyone has to use the internet nowadays, anyway. Don’t take any chances. In any case, you have a lot of options out there.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave us a comment. We’ll be happy to answer all your questions on the issue. Thanks for following us!

Hi Thomas, i know what you are talking about. When I visited the United States of America last year, I was surprised by the diversity of its Netflix library. I know that Netflix offers its content in almost all countries worldwide except China, Syria and North Korea. But it does not always mean that Netflix account abroad the USA is as great and diverse as inside the country. Many were said about the principles Netflix follows, strict rules, licenses and so on and so forth. In a nutshell, it’s all glosses over… Nothing is true to my mind! I understand that it’s easier to speak about Netflix rules, license and others, but about stupid and useless censorship! Well, I’ve tested 4 VPN services and now I know for sure what is worth being described and recommended and what is NOT! I checked if Hide Me VPN, NordVPN, and VPN Gate bypass MDA Singapore restrictions and unblock the American version of Netflix service. I’ll start the blamestorming from Hide Me VPN. The feature that attracted me is the availability of American servers for no price at all! I want to be honest with you so I am to mention that after having connected to Hide Me VPN server free, nothing extraordinary happened. It haven’t unblocked Netflix library. Moreover, it banned my IP, so I saw the screen with the letter that I use VPN, so the admission was denied. Quite strange! But scrolling numerous forums I found the information why it could happen. I knew that some VPNs are blocked by Netflix, so it was quite risky to use Hide Me VPN to unblock the site. As the attempts to open American Netflix failed I stopped testing it and uninstalled from my tab. The next VPN I ran on my tab was NordVPN. I made use of NordVPN free trial period. But there I also faced some troubles: I spent about an hour to find out how to get a VPN free. First of all it was required to sign up and log in. I used my email as a username and created a password. And only after logging in it became clear how to use it for free. The first thing that makes this provider in the top is that NordVPN servers are located in every single corner of the world. And…more than 1100 servers are located in the USA!!!!!!! Such a big number of NordVPN servers allow evading slow steaming speed. Besides, Nord did its work at top level – it unblocked US Netflix in Singapore!!! These three days were really amazing! Well, what can I say… if you are ready to pay, pay for NordVPN. The next provider I get acquainted with is VPN Gate. Having subscribed for VPNGate Singapore Internet changed. Sites that were earlier blacklisted, became available, which is definitely great! For a free Singapore VPN it is a very good result! But the American Netflix library wasn’t opened for me. Well, at least the site wasn’t totally blocked. It’s a good news! My conclusion is that NordVPN is the best VPN to use if you want to access American Netflix content without any problems. But it made me upset that free VPN in Singapore doesn’t work. Maybe the specialist who write for this site are right saying that free VPN providers aren’t reliable and it is not worth entrusting them our security, but I won’t stop looking for a free VPN for Singapore.

Hello Nickolas, the article is so awesome that I made my friends read it. They like it as well. But one section of the article (Is VPN legal in Singapore?) made me think about a possible punishment for using a VPN in Singapore. Well, I want to subscribe for a VPN service, as I need it. And I need it not to have fun or watch entertaining programs. I’m an owner of a small company and I want to keep the technologies we work out here away from the prying eyes. Besides, the rivals can break the computers of my firm and steal all the information. So I’m in search of a VPN for Singapore business. My business is like a child for me. It isn’t big, but very meaningful for me. As I may conclude VPNs make data theft impossible, as all the data are ciphered. Well, I scramble between security of my business and possible punishment.

Hi Asher! I understand your interest in this topic. Any law-abiding person wouldn’t like to be punished for almost nothing. But there is a loop-hole in the law. According to the Singaporean legislation, it is prohibited to access the censored services. In case you are going to use VPN service in Singapore to make your digital gadgets protected against malware, hacking attacks and data theft, you won’t have any problems even in case you will be identified. But, if you follow several simple steps while looking for a VPN for Singapore, you will NEVER be caught (even if you access blacklisted websites). Firstly, don’t use free VPNs in Singapore. It is unsafe! Secondly, choose a reliable and trustworthy VPN provider to use in Singapore. Don’t know how to do it? It is not a problem! Opt for the VPN that offers strong encryption protocols, secure ciphering algorithm, DNS leak protection, the function of a kill switch, NAT Firewall, etc. In general, the more additional features a VPN possesses, the better it is in terms of privacy, security and anonymity. Thirdly, study all the documents presented on the official website of a VPN provider you are going to use. As a rule, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use documents contain data about the rules a VPN provider follows. Thus, studying these pages, you will get to know if the VPN service you are going to use keeps logs on their subscribers’ activity. It is better not to use such VPN providers, otherwise the problems with the law are possible. Follow these simple rules and you will never be caught by ISP or the authorities.

Just need an advice. What do you think is it enough to use proxy server for torrenting or it is better to use a VPN in Singapore? I’m at the parting of the way, as on the one hand I want to torrent without any problems with the ISP and the rightholders, but on the other hand I don’t want to pay money. But as far as I know only paid VPN services are worth using for torrenting.

Salmon, I doubt that you need proxy! I tried so I know it for sure! It makes the network connection too slow for torrenting. If I had to choose between proxy and free VPN, I would choose the second one. It’s better! It’s possible to find a good free VPN for Singapore that wouldn’t reduce the speed significantly. Hope my comment was useful.

Salmon, right you are! It is recommended to use only paid VPN servers for torrenting, as they guarantee that your identity will be masked and no one in the word could find you. Thus, I would recommend you to read the article “Best VPNs for Torrents”. Due to this article you will get to know about the facilities of the best VPNs for torrenting; how to choose the VPN that will meet all your needs; detailed characteristics of the best VPNs for torrenting; torrenting status in different countries and what not.

Hey guys! After visiting America I fell in love with Netflix, but coming to Singapore I became upset. I want to know is it legal to use VPN for Netflix in Singapore? Your answer would be really helpful for me. Thanks I advance!

Hi Thomas! To begin with, it is necessary to mention that Netflix is the service that is adored by millions of people worldwide. Having tried it once, a person can’t stop using it for ages. However, Netflix is available in a limited number of countries. Besides, the content is different in these countries. Thus, to enjoy the full library of this streaming service, it is recommended to use VPN services. It works in the following way: a person is to choose and subscribe for a VPN that possesses the servers in the USA. Then it is necessary to connect to one of them and get American IP. As a result of these actions, the American Netflix library will be at the disposal of a VPN user.

Hello Nikolas! I like this article! The information is presented in an easy way and what is more pleasant, it is very easy to read and absorb it. The info in the article represents the real state of affairs in Singapore. And as for the censorship policy in the country, I totally agree with all which is written here, it’s not a joke! Due to the MDA rules and banns we are not fully informed about the events happening in the world. However, it is not a problem to use a VPN service here. Luckily, the VPN sites aren’t banned. I don’t know whether all VPN sites are available. But those I tried are available. So I subscribed for NordVPN and forgot about all possible restrictions. Besides, I got traffic protection as a bonus. In fact, I didn’t aimed at it, but got! Hoooooray:)

Hi Leo! The VPN you have chosen to use in Singapore is really great! This provider is one of the most advantageous. Paying only $2.75 per month, one gets an unlimited protection of up to 6 devices. The servers in more than 60 countries worldwide serve to make all the services and websites available for a netizen. Bitcoin payment gives an opportunity to become really anonymous while surfing the Internet. 256-bit OpenVPN encryption makes all your traffic hidden from the prying eyes. Thus, opting for NordVPN, you are opting for security and stability!

It seems that it would be better to avoid VPN services placed in countries with strict peculiarities concerning censorship, privacy and etc. It should be mentioned that VPN providers selected for this rating of 7 Best VPNs for Singapore are under jurisdiction of VPN-friendly countries.

Your section about free vs paid VPNs is definitive and makes it clear that free VPN is not suitable for the countries with strict internet censorship (for Singapore as well). It is a pity that free services are not as good as paid…

It is not surprising that Singapore has strict censorship on the Internet (though there are very fast connections), it is an Asian country. Most Asian countries’ governments follow strict policies. A VPN is of the first need there.

I’m down with that! Gwen is 100% right writing about censorship in this Asian country! The thing is that I’ve been to Singapore for several times in my life and I know what I’m talking about! In case a person wants to bypass MDA Singapore IP is the worst decision. It is necessary to find a way to use the IP of another (less strict) country. Only then you’ll browse the pages you like. And speaking about MDA of Singapore, I don’t mean porn sites. Yes, I know that they are banned, and it’s ok for me, as I don’t use them. But at the same time, I strongly believe that such sites should exist. There are some people who need them. I would prefer someone to spend time while browsing such sites at home, instead of looking for a real victim. And yeas, I tried VPN. Well, my familiarity with a VPN started 7 months ago, when I before my 2nd trip to Singapore (I’ve already told you that I visited this country several times). That time I was prepared for the strict censorship of the country. This time the Internet was usual for me, as there were no restrictions. I opted for a free VPON service. And athwart all stigmatization I really liked the service. I’m talking about VPN Gate! It meet all my demands, so I don’t see any reason to find smth else! This free VPN works without any troubles. The number of servers is normal for me. The problems with the speed weren’t noticed! So, VPN Gate is №1 service for me in Singapore!

Nice article, Nikolos! Great tips! Once was in Singapore on business and was surprise to know that such a developed country has a strict internet censorship. But I agree with the porn laws, and the fact that access to such content is blocked in educational institutions. That’s reasonable! But… I have a question: what is a money-back guarantee that VPN providers offer? And how can I use it? Thanks!

Thanks for the question. This feature is really worthwhile when you are not satisfied with the service. You may have your money back. But what is more important, before subscribing for the best VPN in Singapore, you should read properly the terms on which money-back guarantee is provided. Have a look at our dedicated article on the topic for further reading.

I was a fool when I tried Hola VPN in Singapore. When I read on the Internet that some users can you use a free VPN for doilg illegal actions. The VPN doesn’t make you confidential and may even compromise you at things that you didn’t do in reality. That’s awful!!! Thanks God I found this rating, I’ll try a paid subscription.

I noticed a funny thing is that a paid VPN doesn’t unblock a website which was unblocked by Hola. But security concerns are more important at present…

My choice is PIA VPN for Singapore, but you haven’t added it to the list. It can compete with these top rated VPNs.

I read positive reviews about PIA. I am pleased with NordVPN and use it now. But… whatever service you use, not using a secure DNS such as DNSCrypt defeats the whole purpose by leaving you open to such attacks as MITM on your DNS. It makes it dead simple for third parties to sniff what sites you visit, for example. It may happen even if they can't see what information you access there.

Hi, Sean. Whether you live in Singapore or just visit it for business or pleasure, you need to use a VPN service for accessing more content which is not available in Singapore. Besides, taking into consideration it strict censorship, a VPN will serve as the means for protecting your privacy. Another reasonable feature is security-oriented encryption. It will defend your traffic from being hacked into.
