SaturnVPN Review

It seems there is an infinite number of VPN services today. In this regard, people are becoming more demanding. They compare VPNs in order to choose the best provider for their needs. Such features like a Kill Switch, a money-back guarantee, a free trial come as no surprise these days.

We’re going to give you a SaturnVPN review. You’ll see if the provider worth using in 2018 or not. You’ll also learn the following information:

Tariffs and prices of SaturnVPN

Let’s start with the pricing of SaturnVPN. All tariffs of the provider offer the same features: unlimited bandwidth, 3 multi logins, instant activation and many others. However, if you want to save money, have a look at the prices and choose a plan that’s right for you.

Let’s start with the pricing of SaturnVPN

2-Year Deal: This tariff allows saving over 60%. The price is $35 for two years, or $1.4 per month.

12 Months is another plan that allows saving money, though it isn’t so economical. You’ll have to pay $2.08 per month or $25 annually.

6 Months: You can save up to 40% with this plan. Just pay $16 for half a year ($2.6 per month).

As for payment method, SaturnVPN supports credit cards, PayPal, Webmoney, Perfect Money and Bitcoin

1 Month: is the less disadvantageous option. The price is $4.4 per month.

3 Month: The last tariff that will cost you $3.3 per month or $10 every 3 months.

As for payment method, SaturnVPN supports credit cards, PayPal, Webmoney, Perfect Money and, what is really important, Bitcoin. Actually, a cryptocurrency is a perfect way to stay anonymous while purchasing any product on the Internet.

SaturnVPN also offers a 1-day free trial and a 3-day money-back guarantee. You can ask for a full refund within the first 3 days if you aren’t satisfied with the service for some reasons. Of course, the period is no so long. However, it is better than not to have a refund at all.

SaturnVPN Servers

Unfortunately, we’ve failed to find an exact number of SaturnVPN servers. Moreover, servers differ for every type of VPN connection. What is clear, the provider owns servers in Canada, the UK, Poland, France, Germany and up to 9 locations in the USA.

Moreover, SaturnVPN offers unlimited server switching, you can choose any location for bypassing censorship from your country.

Support service of SaturnVPN

SaturnVPN offers its customers 24/7 technical support. You can contact them via the e-mail address or just call them. It is also possible to send a message via their official website.

Security and Privacy of SaturnVPN

PPTP, L2TP, SSTP, OpenVPN protocol are available with SaturnVPN. You can also download Cisco AnyConnect VPN client for Windows 10 or other platforms. Another available proprietary implementation is Kerio.

All trustworthy VPNs use 256-bit encryption, but we can’t say for sure if SaturnVPN supports it or not. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t provide with this information.

OK, what about the privacy of the VPN? These are the worlds from their official website: “We do not and will not monitor user sessions for inappropriate behavior, unless compelled to by law enforcement with proper documentation and paperwork”. However, the company will keep an eye on your information for “law enforcement personnel with the proper documentation and paperwork”.

We also want to pay your attention to the following fact: SaturnVPN allows torrenting via German server but bans P2P connections through USA and UK locations.

Platforms

SaturnVPN works on all OS. You can configure it on iOS, Mac, Linux, Windows or Android. Unfortunately, there is no software for any platforms. You’ll have to set up SaturnVPN manually.

Let’s see how we’ve configured it on Windows 7.

Setup of SaturnVPN

To set up SaturnVPN on your computer, you have to download Cisco AnyConnect VPN client for Windows 7. For OpenVPN and Kerio, third-party software is also needed. However, we’ve configured L2TP VPN server on our desktop.

You might have heard of the Golden Shield Project. If you want to bypass geo-restrictions in China, it’s better to use OpenVPN. L2TP connections can be unavailable in this country.

Here is step by step setup of L2TP connection on Windows 7:

  1. Go to “Start” and click on the “Control Panel”;
  2. Find “Network and Internet”;
  3. Click on “View network status and tasks”;
  4. Click on “Set up a new connection or network”;
  5. Tap “Connect to a workplace” and click “Next”;
  6. Click on “Use my Internet connection (VPN) to create a VPN connection”;
  7. Now you have to type “Internet address”. Fill in server information and label “Don’t connect now”, click the “Next” button.

Now you have to type “Internet address”

Then you are to enter your username and password

IP Leak test and speed test for SaturnVPN

As you might have noticed, we’ve connected to the server in the USA. Let’s see if there any IP leaks:

Hopefully, the test is successful. However, speed test results weren’t so favorable. Here are the speeds without SaturnVPN:

SaturnVPN has reduced the speeds significantly. However, 9 Mbps are still appropriate for convenient surfing and will be even good enough for 720p video resolutions.

However, if your aim is gaming with a VPN, these speeds will be too slow for you.

Features of SaturnVPN

The provider gives no information about a Kill Switch, DNS or IP leak protection. You can see the main advantages, that come with any tariff of the provider, in the screenshot from the SaturnVPN homepage:

You cannot but agree that VPNs are necessary nowadays. There are a lot of areas where widely known websites and social networks are blocked. In spite of the fact that many residents of non-democratic countries don’t even try to bypass restrictions, it will be a terrible trouble for a traveler not to have a possibility to get in touch with their relatives and friends.
