140+ VPNs’ logging policies

By the moment together with our team we reviewed more than 140 VPN services. We testified them from the point of view of various aspects and it seems privacy is one of the most significant reasons why internet users rely on VPN services.

It is not infrequent that VPN providers sometimes leave unsaid their logging policies and claim they keep no logs while in reality they gather them. Do you remember how PureVPN was revealed? Another VPN bloted copybook not long ago…

A lot of VPN providers claim about no-logging policy, but though they might not log usage logs, connection logs are often gathered.

What are connection logs? Usage logs?

Usage logs contain the information about your online activities (visited sites, files downloaded, software used) that violates your internet privacy. As far as connection logs are concerned, the metadata which helps VPN providers troubleshoot certain errors that might take place while using VPN services (at least most of them promise they collect them for such matters).

Why is it important to know what country your VPN is based in?

Certain countries have laws on keeping data about users of internet mobile networks. ISPs or VPN providers might be obliged to pass the information in certain cases. In addition, some countries’ governments may spy on netizens.

That’s why you should know…

and…

As privacy is significant for every VPN user, we decided to create this post with 140+ VPN providers’ Privacy Policy extracts here in one place.
